General Atomics has been awarded a $279.1 million contract for 24 MQ-9 Reapers.

The contract is for Block 5 Reapers, plus spare parts and support equipment, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement. The work is scheduled to be completed by September 2017.

The Block 5 Reaper features increased electrical power, including a backup generator. It also incorporates secure data links and increased data transmission capacity.
