Honeywell offers military high-speed satcom

Honeywell is now offering high-speed, high-bandwidth satellite communications for military customers.

The company is combining Inmarsat’s Global Xpress “SATCOM as a Service” in-flight broadband service and its own JetWave satellite communications hardware, according to a Honeywell announcement.

“Honeywell recently achieved type approval from Inmarsat for JetWave aeronautical terminals, which enable access to the Global Xpress network and provide a more connected flying experience while over land or sea,” Honeywell said. “Global Xpress customers now will be able to improve the effectiveness of military missions with a secure and high-speed environment to transmit mission-critical information, communicate with ground forces, host real-time video briefings, share data between manned and unmanned platforms, and more.”
