Boeing has been awarded a $10.2 million delivery order for distributed targeting systems (DTS) for the U.S. Navy and Australia.
The DTS compares imagery from an aircraft’s sensors to a database in the DTS to determine if the sensors have detected a threat. DTS provides targeting coordinates to other aircraft rather than each aircraft targeting individually.
The orders covers Distributed Targeting System (DTS) A-kits and Operational Test Program (OPT) sets for F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement. It includes 218 DTS A Kits, 31 OPT sets and 20 fiber optic interface test sets. Most of the equipment is for the U.S. Navy, with the remainder for Australia under a foreign military sales contract.
The contract is scheduled to be completed by August 2020.
