Cobham has been awarded a contract to produce waveguide components and assemblies for Lockheed Martin’s AN/SPY-1D three-dimensional fixed-phased array radar.
The contract is valued at more than $10 million. The AN/SPY-1D is the primary search radar for Navy Aegis ships.
“Manufactured under stringent ISO9001:2008 and AS9100 standards, Cobham offers customizable solutions that integrate passive and active microwave and coaxial components, allowing the development and production of complete modular transmit/receive devices,” said Jeff Hassannia, senior vice president of business development and technology at Cobham.
The AN/SPY-1D can track multiple targets simultaneously while continuously monitoring the sky.
