Raytheon wins Marine Corps infrared sensor contract

Raytheon has been awarded a Marine Corps contract for battlefield infrared sensors.

Under the indefinite delivery/indefinite contract, which has a $31.1 million ceiling, Raytheon will provide technical support for the Firepower Enhancement Program (FEP), according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

The FEP aims to develop a “second-generation forward-looking infrared that met detection and identification ranges under different battlefield conditions as well as a far-target location capability,” the Department of Defense said. The contract includes five one-year ordering periods as well as a five-year option. Including the option, the contract is scheduled to be completed by August 2027. The contract was awarded by Marine Corps Systems Command.
