BAE Systems has been awarded a $4.6 million contract by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency for work under its Mobile Offboard Clandestine Communications and Approach program.

SRI will develop “dynamic biometrics” that can detect attempts to evade or deceive biometric systems such as fingerprint, iris and face scanners.

The contract includes associated high-definition FLIR cabling, controller units, software, mounting hardware, technical engineering services and logistics support.

Northrop Grumman will upgrade 72 U.S. Air National Guard F-16 fighter aircraft.

During the test, “the radar performed with exceptional stability and effectively executed ground moving target indicator (GMTI) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) map modes on its maiden flight,” the company said.

The Radar System Improvement Program upgrades comprise a new radar computer, a radar control maintenance panel and electrical and mechanical software and hardware, Boeing said.

Raytheon has been awarded a Navy contract for variable-depth sonar for the littoral combat ship.
